Ranbir Kapoor-starrer ‘Sanju‘, a biopic based on the controversial life of superstar Sanjay Dutt, has tasted immense success at the box office. But the reviews for the movie depicting Sanjay’s life seem to be divided. While some viewers agree with the narration, there are many who believe that the main motivation behind the movie is to whitewash Sanjay’s image. In midst of all this, a video interview by veteran actor Nana Patekar has resurfaced.
In the old interview, Nana Patekar is seen agreeing with the judicial verdict for Dutt. Patekar is also seen saying that Sanjay must serve his full term to repent for what he did. And also that he won’t work with Sanjay Dutt until he completes his term in jail.
An opinionated fan recently re-posted this old interview video while captioning it:

Celebrities have always rallied behind Sanjay Dutt despite his crimes. And now there is even a blockbuster film to whitewash his image.— Od (@odshek) July 2, 2018
But there was one man in Bollywood who has always called him out..and i think the only one from the industry to call him out- Nana Patekar pic.twitter.com/Bezgw6mraa
The fan is evidently angry with how the other celebs have been supporting Sanjay Dutt despite what all he did. And also applauds Patekar’s courage in taking a stand and sticking with it.
There have also been many others who have lashed out at other celebs for backing up Sanjay blindly. Clearly, a sect of B-wood fans is not happy with the movie narrative implicating that Dutt was just a victim, not the perpetrator.
