Modi Govt Exempts Sanitary Pads From GST, Twinkle Khanna & Twitterati Applaud The Decision

Akshay Kumar and wife Twinkle Khanna are the perfect examples of how to promote social causes via Bollywood stature. Some time back, Akshay Kumar starer ‘Padman’ got released and created a huge sensation across the globe.

But the ripple effects of the movie which came late last year are still present, read on to know how. The movie, as all know, sought to create awareness over menstrual cleanliness in India. It traces the life of Lakshmikant Chauhan who created a pad making machine which benefits millions to date.

Both Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna believed in their cause immensely. They were seen promoting the use of sanitary pad amongst Indians with passion. And many TV, as well as Bollywood celebs, joined them in their endeavor.

While many tweeps agreed with the actor- author’s views, there were many who trolled her for it. But it seems like Twinkle is the one having the last laugh.

Just a day ago, the Modi government has announced its decision to exempt sanitary napkins from GST application. As soon as the news broke on social media, people rejoiced and applauded the government’s efforts. And Twinkle did not let this opportunity go, she soon tweeted giving it back to those who trolled her before. Have a look at her tweet below:
