Let's make this world a better place to live.
It is a moment of pride to know that India will be hosting the global World Environment Day this year which is on the 5th of June, 2018. With the theme 'Beat Plastic Pollution', it's an urge to stop single-use plastic pollution and instead think of sustainable ways.
Since it's that one day when everybody around the world gathers to take ownership in keeping the environment clean in their own ways, we have listed a few initiatives here that would check the polymers' detrimental effects to our planet.
Needless to say, every little thing that you do counts to see a pollution-free world. Someday, we'll succeed. And one beautiful day, we'll see a better world.
#TropicanaGiftATree
On the occasion of World Environment Day this year, Tropicana has taken the 'Tropicana Gift A Tree' initiative. This initiative talks of planting one tree in Madhya Pradesh on every purchase of Tropicana 100% tetra pack or Tropicana Essentials on e-commerce site Grofers. Their aim is to plant nearly 1,500 trees which will benefit farmers in the Harda district of Madhya Pradesh.
K4 Craft Community
K4 Craft Community had put up a contest where the theme talked about 'recycled craft'. Kids submitted their entries at their website and even shared it on their Facebook page. It is their bit towards the World Environment Day, and they had urged the mass for participation. The contest was held until the end of last month.
Paint a Plastic-Free World
As World Environment Day comes closer, Punjab Pollution Control Board organised a painting and slogan writing competition. With the idea of 'Paint a Plastic-Free World', kids painted their views on the use of plastic. The theme #BeatPlasticPollution was really successful in Punjab, pictures of which are going viral over the internet. This is their bit towards a better world.
#PlanetOrPlasticMumbai
Here we have a bunch of youngsters who are doing their best at bringing a change and saving the planet. These enthusiastic environmentalists and social media influencers from Mumbai have been on a clean drive since the last few days and have successfully conducted two drives in Mumbai. Their Instagram page talks about the same, and they urge more and more people to come together and help achieve a cleaner environment. National Geographic has started this initiative 'Planet or Plastic', and these Mumbaikars are doing all that they can to spread the word.

I hope you complete the challenge & tag others too😇 #BeatPlasticPollution pic.twitter.com/x1ZpdjwcWO
Not only the commoners but also our Bollywood celebrities are taking some time out of their busy schedules towards World Environment Day. Juhi Chawla has taken up the challenge here and tagged other celebrities to take a selfie with one reusable alternative they'd embrace. This sounds like a great plan to spread the word and would also insist on using reusable items.
