Dear Shikha, Here are 5 Reasons You Are My Favourite in Veere Di Wedding

Thanks for existing, you beauty.

You came in like an epiphanic realisation. You made all of us understand the importance of embracing oneself. And, more than that, you are comfortable in your own skin which is rare in today's social world of insecurities and fake support. It gets hard to see and accept your own skin when the grass on the other side intimidates you and makes you want it. The authenticity gets lost.
A famous person once said that beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself. Shikha Talsania, by playing the role of Meera in your latest chick flick, Veere Di Wedding you showed a window to what exactly it takes to accept the intimidation that big stars bring in when you are working shoulder-to-shoulder with them on a project. No, these stars didn't take away your sparkle and the credit goes to YOU!
Here are some of the reasons why I want to thank you for being a part of the film industry.

Thanks for not taking the 'star-kid' tag seriously.

You made it all by yourself. Various star kids have been an easy prey for those who say nepotism has spread its web in the industry but Shikha, you are not a part of that lot. You have made it all by yourself. Thanks to your versatile star parents Tiku and Dipti Talsania. After all, you have taken all this from them.

Thanks for being 'unapologetically' YOU!

It is true that the struggles in a star's life never end, but you once said that you were prepared for the worse and that you were happy with the fact that your boat didn't sail smoothly. Yes, actresses who are plus-size get to hear a lot from people but you were okay with the fact that you are not 'usual'. It needn't be that the usual is always correct.

Thanks for being an inspiration for many, including me.

You were on the cover of the film's poster, with stars like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhaskar and Sonam Kapoor, because you are a star yourself. We have seen you in different roles and small films, and back then it was impossible to speculate the potential that you had. You showed your inspiring side with the film and that inspired many others. Including me.

Thanks for failing and then making your own decisions.

In one of your latest interviews you mentioned that you got a lot of projects post Wake Up Sid. But you were not intimidated by them. You gave things their precious time and to me, that is the real power of decision making. Failing is not a bad decision, but not doing anything that will make you a better person is.

Thanks for existing.

If you weren't you, we would have never got a gem like that.
You have a long way to go and I really hope to see more of your films with unique storyline and plots that challenge the society.
