Arjun Tendulkar selected to play for India Under-19 cricket-squad

God of cricket Sachin Tendulkar's son, Arjun Tendulkar, has been selected for the U-19 Indian National Cricket Team. Yes, you've heard it right. It's the same team which had won the U-19 ICC World Cup held in Malaysia under Virat Kohli's captaincy, back in 2008.
The U-19 Indian cricket team is due to tour Sri Lanka in the coming month, and Arjun Tendulkar's name has been chosen to join the team. The nation's U-19 cricket team, including Arjun Tendulkar, will play two four-day matches and five one-day matches in with the hosts in Sri Lanka.

Arjun Tendulkar is selected as an all-rounder.

The 18-year-old son of Sachin Tendulkar is picked for two four-day matches against the island nation. Though his name is well suggested for two four-day matches, Arjun failed to make a space for himself in one-day matches.

He was part of the core group that played in Una, Himachal Pradesh.

Arjun Tendulkar was also a part of the core U-19 group of cricketers that played in the Zonal Cricket Academy (ZCA) camp at Una in Himachal Pradesh.

Along with Arjun Tendulkar, the U-19 Team will travel to Sri Lanka next month.

India will tour the island nation of Sri Lanka, this July 2018. The two four-day matches will be led by Delhi's wicket-keeper batsman, Anuj Rawat. On the other hand, the one-day U-19 Indian cricket team will be captained by Aryan Juyal.

The 18-year-old pacer counts English all-rounder Ben Stokes and left-arm Australian pacer Mitchell Starc, as his role models.

Sachin Tendulkar fans took to Twitter to congratulate Arjun on his selection.

While some point out Arjun's selection is due to his father's name, and a lot of good names were ignored.

But, it's great news for Tendulkar supporters throughout the world.

What new records would Arjun Tendulkar make? Well, only time will unfold.
