Watch: Video Of House In Karnataka Sliding Off Edge Of Cliff Due To Incessant Rains

The situation in the south of India worsens each passing day as the rains refuse to let up. The state of Kerala, in particular, has been facing a catastrophe like never before with a death toll of 164, as per latest reports. Rescue and rehabilitation efforts are in full force as over 2 lakh citizens have been left homeless by the floods.
Karnataka is also currently facing a similar situation as 6 of its districts are experiencing floods and landslides. Kodagu, a popular tourist site for its coffee plantations and small waterfalls, is one of the districts that has been most affected by this.

Located about 260 km away from Bengaluru, residents of Kodagu have been posting updates of the rain on social media.

One such video going viral on the internet shows a house slipping off the edge of a cliff of muddy soil.

The big two-storied house which was perched precariously on the edge of the cliff, most likely formed by a landslide, slides off into the muddy ground below. Another video taken of the incident from a closer angle shows people below running out of the way as the house comes crashing down.

Amid all the struggles faced by the residents of such areas, there is a general outcry at the lack of national media coverage given to perils faced by those in the south.

MP Shashi Tharoor expressed his disappointment at the same via a tweet on Independence Day:

Both Kerala and Karnataka are going through stressful times at the moment and it is our duty to do everything in our power to help out our brothers and sisters. With your help, there is hope that both the states will rise above this catastrophe and rebuild themselves in no time.
