The police officer is now a hero. But isn't that his duty?
This video from Ramnagar, a small town of Uttarakhand, is making rounds on the Internet in which a Sikh police officer is seen saving a Muslim man from angry Hindu mob. The scene is shot in an area near a temple in Ramnagar.
According to NDTV, the victim is a Muslim guy who was seen with his Hindu girlfriend. Due to religious clashes, pro-Hindu activists of the area started bothering the couple.
Gagandeep Singh, the Sikh policeman who reached the spot to save the couple, is now a 'Hero' on social media as he protected the young man from mob lynching.
I have one question. Isn't this the policeman's job? A video going viral on the Internet is not the issue, but the video getting viral because people have 'religious-ised' the matter, that is the biggest issue. When will we stop 'religious-ising' every problem in the country?
