An 85-year-old man has set a new world record for endurance running and has broken all stereotypes about age like a boss.
Geoff Oliver, of Hinckley Running Club, logged the record in Tooting, London by running over 77 miles in the space of 24 hours.
A video of the veteran runner was shared by a BBC journalist Sophie Raworth. She tweeted, “This is Geoff Oliver. He’s 85. He’s been going round and round this track for almost 24 hours and has covered more than 70 miles – a world record. #tooting24.

When a journalist asked why he does it, Oliver replied, “Probably a little madness, a little bit of masochism, but also, we should all be struggling to ‘know then thyself,'” a quote from the 18th century English poet, Alexander Pope.
He set his first world record at the age of 65 - having only begun running competitively in his 50s - and in 2009 broke four national and two world records at a single event, the Self-Transcendence 24-Hour Race at the south London venue, reports Eurosports.
What an inspiration!
