Janhvi Kapoor, eldest daughter of late actress Sridevi, is all set for her Bollywood debut in Dhadak. The newbie, who looks uncannily like her late mother, was brave to return for shooting after her sudden demise. Dhadak is one of the most-awaited movies of 2018, which also stars Shahid Kapoor’s younger brother Ishaan Khattar. Sridevi’s daughter has already been showered with praises and love from the industry.
The film is a homage to 2016’s Marathi super-hit ‘Sairat’. Even though the last actress is no longer there, late Sridevi’s daughter did get her support during the first schedule of Dhadak in Udaipur last year. They enjoyed during the first shooting leg with late night rides like this one:
Late Sridevi‘s daughter resumed the shooting just 15 days after her mother passed away in Dubai. The strong actress was back, shooting those intense scenes:
Being late Sridevi’s daughter, Janhvi knows which shoes she’s stepping in. Till now, only her father, Boney Kapoor, has seen the film. She’s excited about her sisters and Arjun Kapoor to watch her debut.
Janhvi Kapoor is receiving all the support from her family, who attended the screening on July 19. Her chachas Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor were excited for their niece’s debut:
Saw #Dhadak last night and all I have to say is #JanhviKapoor & @imIshaanKhatter both are already stars! Their innocence & love will steal your hearts for sure! Loved it!@DharmaMovies @karanjohar @ShashankKhaitan @ZeeStudios_— Anil Kapoor (@AnilKapoor) July 15, 2018
Big sister Sonam Kapoor Ahuja was also very proud after watching the film:
What a stunning debut @janhvikapoor so so proud! Moved beyond words. @ishaankhattar you are magnificent. And this is all thanks to @ShashankKhaitan who has brilliantly captured their innocence, vulnerability and strength! Stunned!!!!!!— Sonam K Ahuja (@sonamakapoor) July 14, 2018
The debutante got everyone’s support, but nothing can be compared to her mother’s absence. So, in order to honour late Sridevi, Dharma Productions’ films gave a tribute to her in the film!
Like Karan Johar‘s father Yash Johar, who gets a ‘We will miss you’ message in the opening credits, late Sridevi was also given one. The lines read: “I LOVE YOU MOM. THIS IS AND ALWAYS WAS FOR YOU – JANHVI SRIDEVI BONEY KAPOOR.” This message will appear at the beginning before Yash Johar tribute.
In this throwback video, late Sridevi once confessed that Janhvi wasn’t well-versed in Hindi and today, she’s making her debut!
Watch Janhvi’s sister Khushi Kapoor recreate the hit song ‘Zingaat’ from Dhadak which has already gone viral! This Instagram story was shared on the eve of the film’s release.
